COORDINATED TIMETABLING

The purpose of the Coordinated Timetabling Committee is to ensure that there is consistency across the university in regards to the Coordinated Timetable process and that the optimal schedule is produced that meets the needs of the students and faculty, optimizes the space usage of classrooms while meeting the demand for course offerings.

Membership: 3 representatives elected or designated by Council.

EMPLOYEE & FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EFAP)

The purpose of the EFAP Committee is to monitor the effectiveness of the program, to revise the contract on a yearly basis, to review concerns about the program and to monitor implementation of the program.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

The mandate of the Committee is to review the benefit plans, to ensure the benefits booklet is updated and to recommend changes to the plan as it deems necessary or desirable.

HEALTH SERVICES

The mandate of the Committee is to provide a forum for the discussion of issues related to the operation of Health Services, to vote on the student health fee and to serve as a means of advocating the interests of Health Services.

JOINT COMMITTEE TO ADMINISTER AGREEMENT (JCAA)

The Committee’s role is to administer the Collective Agreement, to establish subcommittees as deemed necessary, to seek timely correction of conditions that may give rise to misunderstandings, and to be the forum for the exchange of information.

PENSION

The functions of the Pension Committee are to determine all questions arising in the administration of the pension plan including interpretation and application of the plan provisions and to be responsible for reviewing the performance of the trust fund.

PERSONAL SAFETY

The mandate is to serve as a valuable forum for reviewing new policies or policy revisions regarding their potential safety impact on other functional units and to provide a valuable opportunity for students to communicate and work with the administration of the University and vice versa.

SALARY ADJUSTMENT

The Mandate of the Committee is to consider and recommend adjustments to the salary of individual employees in situations of special merit, anomalies, market differentials, offers of alternative employment or obvious inequity. It is also responsible for reviewing the salary of each term appointee granted a preliminary or tenured/confirmed appointment and to review the salaries of those denied CDI.

The terms of reference for the Committee state that it is to consider matters related to the academic governance of the University.

SENATE ACADEMIC PLANNING

The terms of reference for the Committee state that it is to formulate statements of academic and educational goals and standards for the University, advise Senate on academic and educational plans and priorities, advise Senate on the establishment, restructuring or dissolution of academic units, and to monitor plans and proposals that may have an impact on academic issues at the University.
