CUASA by-election. Chair of Collective Bargaining Committee.

CUASA is accepting nominations to complete the current term for the position of Chair, Collective Bargaining & Chief Negotiator (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027).

The Chair of the Collective Bargaining Committee (CBC) is part of CUASA’s Executive and a member of the Steering Committee which helps to set direction for the union and administers Association policies (Article V and VI of CUASA’s Constitution).

* The CBC Chair is entitled to a workload reduction for the duration of their term of office. Please see Article 17.8 (a) of the CU-CUASA Collective Agreement.

The deadline for nominations is Friday August 28th at 10 am. All nominations must be made using the form found here. All nomination forms must include the signatures of the nominee and two Association members as nominators. Nominees are also asked to submit a short candidacy statement (max 500 wds) explaining their background and interest in the position. Please send completed forms to [email protected].

The new CBC Chair will be appointed by a vote of Council in September in accordance with Article IX of the CUASA Constitution.

CUASA current collective agreement expires April 30, 2027. CUASA is actively preparing to be at the bargaining table with the employer in the spring of 2027.
