Urgent Action: Stop Bill C-377

On June 26, Conservatives in the Senate passed a motion to limit debate and force a vote on Bill C-377, anti-labour legislation that would impose onerous reporting requirements on CUASA, CAUT and other labour organizations.

NHL Players Association
Liberal and Conservative Senators
Constitutional Experts
Canada’s privacy commissioner
the Canadian Bar Association
the insurance and mutual fund industry
seven provinces and,
a long and diverse list of academics, labour leaders and others in the business legal and other sectors.
Not only is this legislation an attack on unions, the actions of the majority in the Senate to change the rules to suit their purpose just serves to highlight ongoing issues in the Senate.
