Deadline: next Wednesday, September 27th

While it is still early in the term, please take a moment to think about your “JCAA-approved teaching evaluations”. While the questionnaires are useful for some in appraising students’ experience of the course, the simple fact is these surveys are not adequate in assessing teaching effectiveness, and yet retain importance, especially for CDI assessments and tenure/promotion dossiers. CUASA reminds you that you can make an election about how teaching evaluations will be administered in your courses: on paper or electronically. CUASA strongly recommends that all members opt for paper forms. Scores are consistently lower when electronic surveys are used, and opting for paper reduced gender and racial bias in the surveys.

The questionnaires will automatically be administered electronically unless you pro-actively opt-in to paper forms before September 27^th. You can do this quickly and easily through Carleton Central.
