CUASA Council adopts motion supporting CUPE 2424
Today, CUASA Council meeting formally adopted a motion to support striking CUPE 2424 workers. CUASA has pledged another $1,000 from the solidarity fund and will be putting up a link for Council members to sign up for daily slots to stand on the picket line with CUPE 2424 via cally.com. We are hoping to have a Council member on the picket line every day.

Additionally, CUASA voted to hold its Council and Steering meetings off campus for the duration of the CUPE 2424 strike.
Also, CUASA endorsed the website We Are Carleton and encourages CUASA members to submit their own views on how 2424 members are integral to CUASA members’ jobs and careers
CUASA members and the work of CUPE 2424
CUASA stands against Having non-2424 members do 2424 jobs. Please ask yourself, “is this job normally done by 2424?” If the answer is yes, then you should not be performing that member’s work. Some examples might include (and they may vary by department): xeroxing exams, and performing IT/website maintenance tasks.
CUASA solidarity pickets
The solidarity picket held yesterday saw close to 50 CUASA members walk the line in support of your CUPE 2424 colleagues!
CUASA will be running another solidarity picket next Friday. Stay tuned for details!
