Celebrating International Women’s Day 2024
March 8, 2024
This International Women’s Day we recognize and celebrate the achievements and advancements made by women. Today is a call to action to disrupt the multiple interlocking structural systems of oppression that impact women of all backgrounds and identities, including sexism, transmisogyny, racism and misogynoir, settler colonialism, classism, ableism and sanism, homophobia, religious discrimination, and all other forms of bigotry and intolerance impacting women today.
We share CAUT’s recognition of the continued barriers that women face in post-secondary education, particularly Indigenous women and women from equity-deserving groups, and we echo the call for the federal government to expand in programs promoting gender equity.
