Steering Nominations 2026

CUASA is now accepting nominations for the Steering Committee!

The Steering Committee is responsible for the implementation of the policies of the Association (Article V and VI of CUASA’s Constitution). The Committee meets once a month during the academic year, traditionally on Thursday afternoon. Elected Steering Committee Officers receive teaching releases in exchange for their service.

Nominations must be made using the form found here and include the signatures of the nominee and two Association members as nominators. Please send completed forms to [email protected]. Nominees are also asked to submit a short candidacy statement (max 500 wds) explaining their background and interest in the position.

Two-year terms beginning July 1, 2026

President – The deadline for nominations for President is Wednesday, April 15, at 4:30pm. Nominations and candidacy statements for President will be published on the CUASA website on April 1. In accordance with Article IX of the CUASA Constitution, the vote to elect the President is open to all members of the Association. The election will be held before the April 29 General Meeting.

The deadline for nominations for the remaining open positions is Friday, May 1, at 4:30pm. Nominations and candidacy statements will be published on the CUASA website starting on April 16. In accordance with Article IX of the CUASA Constitution the following positions will be elected by CUASA Council at the May 21 Council meeting:

Treasurer

External Relations Officer

Chair, Grievance Policy and Administration

Teaching Stream Representative

Professional Librarian Representative

One-year terms beginning July 1, 2026

CUASA is also accepting nominations for by-elections for one-year terms to complete the current terms of positions made vacant due to sabbatical:

Chair, Internal Affairs

Chair, Equity
