Bargaining News! February 7th, 2025

CUASA and the Employer were back at the bargaining table on February 5th. The teams exchanged counter proposals and discussed, among other things, tenure and promotion for Teaching Stream Faculty, Indigenization, Student Experience Questionnaires (SEQ), leaves, accommodations, grievance, and investigations. We are making progress on some of these issues, while others will require more work at the table.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has informed CUASA and the Employer that they have assigned us a conciliator! We are currently waiting for the conciliator’s proposed dates – expect updates soon. For more information about when and why we began the conciliation process please see the Negotiating Team’s January 30th bargaining update.

Bargaining Priorities Survey

Consultation with CUASA’s membership is a crucial component of the work of the Negotiating Team. As we enter a new stage of bargaining the Negotiating Team needs to be able to clearly articulate the current priorities and positions of the membership on key bargaining issues to both the Employer and conciliator. To that end we are asking the membership to please fill out a short survey.

The Bargaining Priorities Survey is confidential and open to all CUASA members. Check your email for the link.

The survey will close at 5pm on February 14th.
