CUASA Elections
April 2015
CUASA is currently seeking nominations for the following positions on its Steering Committee. All positions carry a two year term and begin on July 1, 2015. Depending on the outcome of the vote on the proposed constitutional changes (click here for more information), we will either be seeking a Vice President or a President-Elect (one year with a year as President).
The Vice President is responsible for chairing Council and General meetings, assists the President with his/her duties and serves on the Joint Committee for the Administration of the Agreement.
The President-Elect is responsible for the same duties as the Vice President (with the exception of chairing Council) but upon completing a year as President-Elect becomes the President.
Other vacant positions are:
- External Affairs Officer (or Chair, External Relations Committee): represents CUASA at CAUT, CAUT Defence Fund, NUCAUT and OCUFA Board meetings.
- Chair, Internal Affairs Committee: works with the committee and staff to encourage member involvement in the Association and promotes awareness of issues facing Association members.
- Communications Officer (or Editor, CUASA Communique): works with staff on the communications of the Association with its members and the wider community.
- Salary and Benefits Officer: advises the Association on salary and benefits matters, serves on the negotiating team with Carleton.
- Chair, Collective Bargaining Committee: acts as chief negotiator for negotiations with Carleton. This position is guaranteed under the collective agreement to teach no more than one course per academic year.
