Nova Scotia Bill 100
April 2015
Bill 100 (the Universities Accountability and Sustainability Act) is presently before the Nova Scotia legislature. This Bill, if passed, would violate constitutional rights and the independence of universities, and compromise academic freedom. The Act would permit the provincial government to suspend the right of University employees to strike, would override provisions in collective agreements, and dictate research and teaching priorities.
