CUASA Statement on International Women’s Day

Today, on this International Women’s Day 2022, CUASA stands foremost with all those fleeing violence and war, knowing full well that some of the most heinous gender-based atrocities happen in times of conflict. We also send wishes of strength and resilience to all women fighting against injustice, both around the world and close to home.

In keeping with the theme of this year’s IWD, CUASA commits to striving for a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, one where diversity, equitability, and inclusivity are celebrated. Together, we can all #BreakTheBias.

CUASA strongly recognizes the impossibility of a labour movement without women, without whom this Union would not exist as it stands today; women on whose shoulders we stand and with whom we will continue to fight for justice and fairness starting, as always, with our own members.
