The Communiqué – Tenure & Promotion Workshops

Tenure & Promotion Workshops
In light of the new collective agreement, CUASA is announcing the format of the annual Tenure & Promotion Workshops has been changed. The upcoming workshops will cover the new process for applying for tenure and/or promotion, the preparation of dossiers, and the appeals process in the event of a denial.
We would like to remind members that, under the 2017-2021 collective agreement, there is no longer an “old” and “new” process. There will only be one application process so that all members may benefit.
If you are submitting a dossier for tenure or promotion this year, we urge you to attend. CUASA representatives will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the process. If you are unable to attend, please note the July 1 deadline to submit names for external referees has not changed. Workshop materials may be provided on request.
Workshops will happen next week, June 25 to 28, with the following sessions and times:
- Tenure & Promotion to Associate Professor
Monday, June 25, 9:00am-12:00pm - Promotion to Associate and Full Professor
Monday, June 25, 1:00pm-4:00pm - Instructor Confirmation & Promotion
Tuesday, June 26, 2:00pm-5:00pm - Promotion to Associate and Full Professor
Wednesday, June 27, 9:00am-12:00pm - Tenure & Promotion to Associate Professor
Wednesday, June 27, 1:00-4:00pm - Tenure & Promotion: General Information
Thursday, June 28. 1:00-4:00pm
*This session will have information for members serving on Departmental/School Tenure & Promotion Committees, Faculty Tenure & Promotion Committees, or the University Promotions Committee
Please note that we recommend all workshop attendees bring with them a copy of their own unit standards to assist them in learning the new process. If you do not have a copy of your unit standards, please see your Chair or Director.
All sessions will take place in Canal Building, room 3400. Light snacks and refreshments will be served. If you plan to attend, please contact Communications Assistant Josh Horton here to RSVP.
