CUASA in Mediation this Weekend
Your Negotiation Team is meeting with the Employer and Arbitrator William Kaplan this weekend. We are committed to using the process to reach a fair deal. Updates will be communicated, when possible, as they become available. Support your team on social media using #WeAreCarleton and #CUGetItDone.
CAUT Defence Fund
CUASA’s motions to the CAUT Defence Fund for Strike Benefits have been approved. This means that, in the event of a strike or lock-out, we have been pre-approved for strike pay, a loan for strike support, and a loan for benefits payments. Of course, with the mediation process we hope to avoid a strike or lock-out, but this pre-approval means we are prepared for any scenario should the time come.
CUASA Launches Change.org Petition
In case you missed it, CUASA has launched a Change.org petition to urge Carleton to close the gender pay gap. You can see the petition here. Please sign it and share it widely and show the administration we are serious about ensuring all members are paid fairly.
Solidarity with CUPE 3903
CUASA would like to thank CUPE 3903 at York for their statement of solidarity and share one of our own. We hope the York administration comes to their senses and stops refusing to meet and bargain in good faith.
